Therapies

All of the therapies listed below are available to our students through the Therapy Department at Lima Memorial Hospital. The child will need to be referred by a physician and will be evaluated to see what therapies they might qualify for. Students can also receive therapy services through other agencies outside of the hospital.

Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy can help your child learn to sit, crawl, walk and gain balance. This therapy will help the child develop muscle strength and movement.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy can help children learn to do every day activities, such as dressing and feeding themselves. This therapy will also help children learn to reach, hold objects, use scissors and begin hand writing.

Speech Therapy

Speech Therapy can help your child learn to talk better. Therapists work with children who have trouble making or understanding sounds, saying words, and putting words together to make sentences. They also help children with hearing and/or feeding and swallowing problems.
